The Pamphlet Of The Old Ones
A downloadable game
WHAT IS THIS GAME?
This is a narrative heavy roleplaying game that uses a d20 Roll-Under mechanic, as its basic function. Inspired by the mechanics and principals of the most popular Mythos related roleplaying system. Simplified, adapted and re-imagined, to fit everything you need on this piece of paper, including a character sheet.
MECHANICS
In comparison to the popular System, all changes have been made in favor of reduction and simplification, hopefully keeping the vibe intact.
- percentile in 5% increments (d20)
- reduction of attributes to two; Mind and Body. Mind and Body serve as HP and skill-cap(hardcore mode) as well.
- reduction of skills to 21.
- combat simplified to hit and damage into one roll.
- using descriptors and the occupation as a skill-check modifier.
IS SOMETHING MISSING?
Let me know if there is something you think is missing, that is essential to the feel of the game this is based on, maybe it can be added in at some point.

Hi Carl - a most promising game! One thing that I noticed: there’s no Science skill. How do I make a chemist or an astronomer or a geologist in the game?
Best,
Brian C.
noted!
I have a couple solutions for now:
Give yourself the occupation; chemist, astronomer or geologist.
Use the Nature skill or replace/add one .
Use a descriptor like: "rocknerd" to pinpoint your character.
Thanks for the kind words and feedback !
with the new update I finally got around to add: science!
take care,
carl
